Expedition style charter -- fish on LATITUDE

LATITUDE is based in Panama, currently rated one of the best destinations in the world by the New York Post.

Included in the charter fee is the tender, LONGITUDE, a 43-foot Mares Catamaran. There are not many boats that can offer this size support vessel that give the guests of LATITUDE access to many of the area attractions including secluded beaches, dive spots and exclusive fishing locations.

What to do ~

The exquisite Las Perlas Islands are just 42 miles away or 50 minutes in super yacht LONGITUDE to explore this remote paradise.

Coiba Island, site of the famed Jurassic Park movie, boasts some of the best fishing and scuba diving in the world! Close to Panama City and the world famous Canal.

Explore historical Panama City, truly a hidden gem of Central America. Unfettered by tourist crowds, Panama’s natural gifts shine. Although most visitors to
Central America set their sights on tourist-soaked Costa Rica and Guatemala, it’s hard to shake the feeling in Panama that you’ve discovered a secret the rest of the traveling world has yet to find. Refreshingly absent are the ‘gringo trail’ and careless over-development plaguing many Central American beach towns. Panama’s highlights are best described as "off-the-beaten-path" destinations, though it’s likely that this will change in the near future.

This exciting offer includes six beautiful staterooms, each ensuite aboard the spacious LATITUDE. You will have all the amenities of a large luxurious motor yacht at a much more attractive price. Your service-oriented crew await the pleasure of your company. Choose to enjoy gourmet breakfasts, lunches and dinners at sit-down or casual bar-b-que as you relax by the pool

Popular for charter Benetti power yachts

The Italian build/design team at Benetti is well known for creating pretty motor yachts with well appointed interiors and beautiful craftsmanship. Another aspect to note is that the Benetti shipyard looked to the charter industry to tell them what clients like and how they use their yachts.

This means a power yacht built by Benetti will have a layout that includes a full master suite, guest accommodations with queen or king cabins, full audio visual systems, plenty of space for entertaining and room for all the water sports toys you could imagine. Newer builds comply with the recent upgraded EU standard the MCA code and can legally trael and charter around the world. Newer builds also usually take advantage to the sun deck for privacy and hot tubs with full service bar to make it an around the clock hang out location.

Chartering a Benetti is easy and a first great step to purchase. Try the lovely 147’ motor yacht Candyscape in the Med this summer, the 118’ Shalimar in the Caribbean or 100’ Mariah in the Bahamas.

Charter 112 Westport Kelly Sea in the Bahamas

I had the opportunity last week to go stem to stern on board the 112 Westport Kelly Sea while she was docked at Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas. Captain Palmer Cole is a charming fellow, who after spending time delivering Westports for the shipyard, helped this owner put together all the details to make Kelly Sea the best equipped yacht for charter and owner use.

With a focus on fishing, this crew is well trained and also able to produce amazing food with a room and well stocked wine cooler. The Kaleidoscope media system is usually only found on larger yachts and offers streaming movies, music and internet to any of the many large flat screens throughout Kelly Sea.

Roomy and luxurious, Kelly Sea was designed for relaxed living and entertaining. Her large hot tub on the sun deck is perfect for stargazing with a glass of champagne at the end of a long active day.

Kelly Sea is also available for sale and offers a turnkey operation, set for chartering, fishing and fun! Charter before you buy this summer in the Bahamas.

Sunny Spain – the Balearic Islands

This Spanish group of islands lies in the Mediterranean Sea about 100 miles off the coast and are very familiar to European charter guests. The Balearic Islands have been a stopping point fro sailors for thousands of years and meld the various cultures from Africa to Greece to Spain.

Arid and mountainous, with numerous anchorages & coves along with historic towns makes this the perfect choice for a ‘no stress’ yacht charter. Numerous small villages are well worth visiting for their charm and cuisine. . A yacht charter in this area combines modern comforts with a relaxed and easy going pace.

Fabulous food based on the grapes and olives that are locally grown are all part of the charter experience. Plus shopping for the well know Mallorcan pearls – lustrous and dark is lots of fun.

There are only a relatively small number of yachts under 150’ available in Spanish waters due to local tax law. Two great power yacht options are Leigh and Alcor are based in Spain. Their crews know this area well – from deserted beaches accessible only by boat to the nightlife of Palma and dancing until dawn. Whatever you prefer, you’ll find it in the Balearics!

Spring and summer charters in the Bahamas

Close to the east coast of Florida, the islands of the Bahamas are a good spot for a spring or summer yacht charter vacation. Although cool in mid winter by April the winds and water have warmed enough to make this area perfect for snorkeling, shelling or fishing.

Nassau is a developed island and a good jumping off point for a trip, but there are numerous other locations that can be reached by small planes that really get you into the midst of the outer islands of the Exumas. The Abacos offer great beaches as well as cute small towns to visit. Further south, Turks & Caicos are isolated with shallow water for snorkeling and great fishing.

This spring the charter catamaran Ocean’s Seven is based in the Bahamas. This 58’ luxury catamaran is well set up for 8 guests plus two crew that are sure to please. The shallow draft of a catamaran gives you unrivaled ability to sail the banks, skimming in just 5 or 6 feet of clear water over the banks to reach the best snorkel & shelling reefs.. Anchor in calm water off reef s where you can only see the stars of the Milky Way – no other lights in sight.

For dedicated fishermen there are many other options of power yachts that will provide options of deep sea fishing to light line sport. Clients love the clear blue waters of the Bahamas for scuba diving during their charter.

For rest and relaxation, a yacht charter in the Bahamas on Ocean’s Seven is a great choice!

Charter in the South Pacific

Charter in Fiji! Although the Pacific Islands of Fiji are a long haul for many Americans, they are worth the time it takes to get there! With more than 300 islands spread out over hundreds of miles, you could charter many times without seeing it all.

Like many parts of the South Pacific, this tribal nation is based on traditional Polynesian culture where individual ownership of land is limited, resources are shared and the community is run by tribal elders. When going ashore on a new island it is necessary to pay a visit to the tribal chief to ask permission to visit with an exchange of gifts – taking tea or kava (a local drink) and receiving fruits & vegetables strait off the plant.

For beautiful scenery, gorgeous clear water for snorkeling, scuba diving and shelling, relaxed, friendly laid back people and flowers in bloom everywhere many say Fiji is Paradise.

There are a number of yachts available in Fiji – try the luxury power yacht VvS1 or the power cat Belmare for ease of travel and scuba diving & tons of water sports.

Charter on the West Coast of North America

Clients have been asking for charters closer to home as travel time eats into vacation time. One option is a charter along the California coast. There are more power yacht options than sailing options but the west coast is accessible for a large number of people and a great choice for a long weekend or spur of the moment get away.

One aspect to keep in mind when chartering in the USA is that Coast Guard regulations restrict the number of passengers to 6 on a yacht under 100 GT – about 100’ for a power yacht and 12 for yachts over 100GT.

For summer 2009 try the sailing yacht Coconut that is headed from the Caribbean to San Francisco. Or the lovely motor yacht Mercedes based in southern California is sure to please! There are a number of options for guests depending on the season, so try a charter closer to home!

A yacht charter vacation is a truly exceptional sailing holiday vacation and prized as a way to unwind in comfort and more importantly, complete privacy. Northrop & Johnson BVI brings you many years of experience in yacht charters and an in depth knowledge of some of the loveliest and most exclusive yachts in the world.

Types of Yachts for Charter:

Catamarans
Catamarans are a newer style yacht that guests really love: their width gives them stability under sail and at anchor, while the shallow draft allows them to pull right up close to that deserted beach. Sailing catamarans offer easy access to the water with easy broad steps down their transoms, which makes them very popular for scuba diving charters. Their twin hull layout offers roomy salons and huge outdoor cockpits, with very equal cabin accommodations usually with ensuite baths.

Luxury Yachts
Luxury Yachts can range from the simple to the largest and most luxurious with every details well thought out in concept & execution. Whether 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets are what you require for a good night's rest or someone to serve ice cream floats at 2AM, a luxury yacht is the platform to restore the inner spirit with stress free time on the ocean. Luxury Yachts are generally over 100' in length and may be power or sail — there are custom yachts in every style you can imagine.

Mega Yachts
Yachts over 100' are being built to new design standards to incorporate all that a designer can imagine. Using high end materials and creativity in every detail these yachts are available in power or sail. You set the parameters - is high speed your thing? Or having space enough to have the kids and grandchildren with you? With styling that displays traditional craftsmanship to those that are ultra-modern minimalist, mega yachts move with the seasons and are available in all the best locations from Monaco to the South Pacific.

Super Yachts
Imaginative, luxurious but also functional, super yachts are the top end of the market. These large super yachts are the perfect backdrop for grand entertaining with family and friends, while still affording the ultimate in privacy and security. A well trained crew to look after all the details and with the contacts and local knowledge to 'make it happen', aboard these yachts you can relax and know that your wishes are not just being met, but anticipated.
